Who here ran in the rain before? Okay, I see a few hands….I ran in the rain when I’m kid too. Now, who ran in the rain on purpose? Hmm no one? Tell anyone that you’re gonna run or play in the rain, the response you’ll get is “Crazy ah you, fall sick ah ! “. Which is true to a certain degree case in point, Aunty Andrea fall sick when it started raining while we were jogging in Alam Damai. Well, that was unintentional run in the rain.

After that incident, I decided to run in the rain intentionally with proper attire of course. I’ve finally got my chance one day, and boy oh boy do I feel dumb walking to the park when everyone else is leaving. I wear my usual shirt and shorts with the addition of a windbreaker and cap. Its important to have a windbreaker to ensure my inside shirt from getting wet and a cap to block the rainwater from my face.

That run has to be my most awesome run for this year (2009) seriously. No other runs with friends, alone or races can compare to that. I can’t describe it at all the cold wind, the sound of rain water hitting the ground, me splashing puddles of water, the peaceful feeling of solitary and most importantly I cried while I ran. I realized at that moment, I was ‘disconnected’ from all my worries, its as though the rain waters are wrapping me around and I just had to cried out to God for forgiveness, my relationship and walk with Him have not been really good this year. I realize the older I grow, its harder to trust in Him. That run reminded me of His love and His sacrifice for me.

Not long after that, I ended my run. I felt less tired and I ran slightly longer than I usually would at that park. I guess by now, probably you all  wanna know whether I fall sick the next day or not. Nope I didn’t, still macam harimau hahaha.

So will I do it again? definitely yes..
