Terry Fox Run KL 2009

Terry Fox, a Canadian young man who was very active in sports woke up one day not being able to stand up and several days later lost one of his leg. He was diagnosed with bone cancer and doctors had to amputate his leg.

During his stay in the hospital, he witnessed the sufferings of other cancer patients and he wanted to something bout it. That ‘something’ was what he called The Marathon of Hope…

He ran a marathon a day (42km/26miles) for 143 consecutive days with a prosthetic leg regardless of the weather. His dream was to run across Canada and collect 1 dollar from every Canadian. The 143th day was the last time he ran, he had to stop because cancer returns and spread to his lungs this time. He died several months later at the age of 22…..

but..The Marathon of Hope did not end. Terry Fox touched Canada and the world. From that day onwards, every year there is a Terry Fox Run to commemorate what he had done and to raise funds for cancer research.

I’ve decided to join Terry Fox Run KL 2009 at Lake Gardens on 1st November. Will you join me? All you need to do is just be there at 8.45am and run the 5km, there is no registration. T shirts and donations are available on that day.

Leonardo Da Vinci

This holiday season will feature the release of several blockbuster games including one of my most anticipated games of this year, Assasin’s Creed 2. The storyline will feature the hero requesting the help of the famous Leonardo Da Vinci during the 15th century in Renaissance Italy. That brings us back to the topic of this post. I know i know, tak ada kaitan right? Can't help it, I'm a gamer and games that uses historical references and figures are my favourites. Plus, you learn to appreciate history =)

Pusat Science Negara will be the host of Da Vinci The Genius 2009 Exhibition from 1 Oct 2009 – 17 January 2010. The exhibition will feature Leonardo’s creations and inventions, his artwork and drawings including the famous Mona Lisa, The Last Supper and Vitruvian Man.

Mona Lisa. I used to get goosebumps staring at it when I was a kid.

The Vitruvian Man. Girls close your eyes.

The Last Supper.

The highlight of the exhibition is the works of a French scientific engineer and photographer of fine art, Pascal Cotte who made extensive research on the Mona Lisa painting. He made 25 startling  revelations that will reveal the true light of the painting.

Leonardo Da Vinci have been known as a great inventor, artist, scientist, anatomist, engineer and architect. To me, he kinda proves the saying ‘ Jack of all trades, master of none’ wrong. I wonder if i could achieve that =).

If you would like to get free tickets to the exhibition drop by Daniel Franklin Gomez's blog. Also, check out the official site Da Vinci KL. Tickets are priced at:
Rm25 adults
Rm20 Child
RM13 Senior Citizens (50 above)

Below are several photos of the KL exhibition
